Eliza's Marshmallow Test

If you are unfamiliar with the Marshmallow Test begun at Stanford University many years ago, you need to see it.  Also, if you haven't seen Henry's marshmallow test, which was hilarious, you can find summaries of both here.

The video feature on our camera stopped a few times which meant we had to sneak in and restart the camera, which hopefully doesn't invalidate the results.  We still got some cute shots of Eliza staring down temptation.

The Little Things

When you get behind in your video making and you have a bunch of random clips that you don't know what to do with, then you throw them in a pot and hope they make an edible video stew.  The clips range from March to September.

80% Clarissa

In this video, little miss Clariss turns 2.  Clarissa is 2.5 years old today, meaning 20% of her life has happened since this video was taken.

It goes by so fast, which is why we try and document it all.

Bubblicious

Anyone can blow bubbles with a plastic wand, but it takes real talent to blow with the wand and with the mouth back to back.

A wedding, some hikes, and lots of friends

This video starts with M and E as flower girls at Ammon's wedding,  shows some hiking in Southern Utah, and then there's a 2nd song with some fun video from a family reunion and get togethers with friends.  What a great couple of weeks we had.

We miss all of our friends and family out west (even those of you not pictured in the video).

The Shimmy

No background music or special effects, just a 4 year old trying to hula hoop.

No self-esteem issues here.

A Perfect 10

We're a bit behind on the videos around here.  Nothing like Columbus Day to try and get caught up.  We'll try for a video every day this week.

We'll start off with the celebration of our 10th anniversary back in April.

Perfect wife and perfect vacation.

A typical FHE...with not-so-typical news

Every Monday night, our family gathers together for what our church calls "Family Home Evening."  We have a song, prayer, lesson, activity, and dessert.  Our kids love this time and we hope that will never change as they get older.  On this particular night we were learning about a distant ancestor and creating a family tree.

This video captures some typical f.h.e. moments (ie. Clarissa in her own world oblivious to the lesson and the fact that she should be sitting, kids pushing and arguing).  It also captures my (Tammy) disciplining/annoyed-at-my-child's-behavior voice.  I think I would be a very different mom if every evening before bed, I had to watch the day back and listen to my voice.  One of these days I'll figure it out!

But, the real reason we're sharing this video is because it captures a level of excitement that is not a typical part of our family nights.  Watch and find out why!

"I'm on my way.  Tell the world I'm here!"

Let It Go!

For your sakes, we hope this song hasn't been sung as frequently at your house as it has been at ours.  It's catchy, though, and it works well for our very frozen month.  Video clips include snow forts, Eliza's birthday, snowballs to the face, and eating Olympic rings at our Opening Ceremonies party.

November in a Nutshell

Thanksgiving with family in NY, dancing kids, leaf playing, surprising ping-pong skills, and a small reminder of Tammy's solo trip to be with friends in Arizona.

Defying Gravity

Flashback to October 2013: featuring Halloween, sports and a visit from Uncle Ammon.
